من خلال دراسة بعض المسائل التي تتعلق بمبحث العام والخاص عند الحنفية واختلافهم فيها, وتأييد قول أحدهم بالأدلة والبراهين من أقوال الأصوليين الآخرين, يکون هدف البحث: بيان التطور الأصولي داخل المدرسة الواحدة. ولما کان العام وأحواله التي تعرض له کثيرة منها أن صيغ العموم قبل التخصيص تثبت الحکم فيما تحتها من الأفراد قطعاً, کما هو رأي أکثر الحنفية, وظناً کما هو رأي غيرهم, لکثرة التخصيص في العام, حتى شاع أنه ما من عام إلا ودخله التخصيص.
ويهدف البحث أيضاً إلى بيان هذه المسائل ومدى اختلافها في المذهب الحنفي, مع بيان مذهب المتکلمين فيها.
کما يهدف البحث أيضا إلى بيان أهمية الوقوف على اختلاف أصحاب المدرسة الواحدة في النظر في بعض مسائل أصول الفقه, واستخلاص الراجح في هذه المسائل في صورة قريبة من أفهام المعاصرين.
